This 90-minute action learning set is for officers who are working with schools and providers around the National Wraparound Childcare Programme in England. This session will examine the issue of innovation in delivery of wraparound childcare. Through facilitator input and action learning discussions, we will:

Explore how we look beyond what we know right now about delivery of wraparound childcare,
Consider when innovation might be the right solution,
Examine strategies about how to get buy in for innovation,
Share examples of innovation in delivery from around the UK.

This 60-minute session for officers who are working with schools and providers to deliver the National Wraparound Childcare Programme in England. It aims to expand on knowledge acquired in the Let’s Talk About Session help on 16 October 2024 and help LAs who are less confident in marketing to ensure they are fully equipped to support the providers they are working with.

5 November Let’s Talk About…Testing and Gathering Evidence to Test Flexible Ways of Providing Wraparound Childcare

This 90-minute session for Local Authority officers will build on previous learning and discussions in summer term 2024 with a focus on what works, how do we know this and how can we use the learning to grow the programme.

7 November Let’s Talk About… The Role of Schools in Sufficiency Planning for the Early Years Entitlements

This 60-minute session for officers responsible for childcare market management and the engagement of schools in early years sufficiency planning will consider how do we best engage with schools – who, how and when; discuss what Local Authorities are already doing and hear what has worked in place creation strategies in 2024; consider how we engage and include schools a local sufficiency strategy.
