Below is a recorded information session for providers designed to highlight a few ways that additional places could be created by making changes to ratios and staffing, delivery models and/or spaces.
As we head to September 2025, we are all focused on ensuring there are sufficient places for parents of young children from nine- months to five who may want to access the extended 30-hour entitlement. There has been investment, but we know that not all place development and capacity growth require capital or revenue funding. Sometimes there are opportunities to release unused capacity within the existing provider market. Part of a local authority sufficiency action plan is to identify these opportunities and support providers to release these places if appropriate and possible. The two items in this suite are designed to provoke thinking and stimulate discussions about some opportunities that could support your work with providers to do this as well as supporting providers to increase occupancy and income.
